Teaching Award 2018
The best-rated courses in the first study section are the seminar "Integrated Emergency Medicine" and the seminar "Medical Psychology and Sociology" by Prof. Dr. med. Manfred Schedlowski, Prof. Dr. Sven Benson and Anna Lena Kahl. The prize money of 1,000 € each will benefit teaching and seminar of the award winners. Prof. dr. BBC filmed documentary at Essen University Hospital
Manfred Schedlowski, director of the Institute of Medical Psychology and Behavioral Immunology, has been filmed and interview by the BBC. The broadcasting of the one hour program of journalists Joe Myerscough and Maia Krall-Fry focusing on placebo will start this autumn in England, additionally on 3sat or Arte later on.
Neurological and mental illnesses are on the rise worldwide. The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) is therefore combining its research activities into the new focus "Translational Neuro and Behavioral Sciences". The initiative is coordinated by Prof. Dr. med. Christoph Kleinschnitz, Director of the Department of Neurology (right), and Prof. Dr. med. Manfred Schedlowski, Director of the Institute of Medical Psychology and Behavioral Immunology (left), both from Essen University Hospital.

Teaching award "best lecturer sommer session 2017"
The evaluation results of the sommer session 2017 (Medical Faculty, University of Duisburg-Essen) revealed that Prof. Sven Benson was personally chosen by the students in the first section of medical studies as best lecturer.
